Description:
Copper bronze vase designed with relief and etching techniques. Has two handles in the shape of Water Buffalo heads. Writing on vase states that it belongs to the Early Ch'ing Dynasty, 17th century.
VE Exhibit Label 1:
In 1939, Dr. Schlendwein, who was then a member of the Board of Trustees of the Public Library and Museum and an avid collector or art treasurers, acquired a group of bronzes and other artifacts relating to several Chinese Dynasties dating from 600 - 1839 AD.
