Campers in grades 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 will have the opportunity to learn about architecture during our week-long summer camps. Students will take tours of unique architecture in Erie, tour an architecture office, learn how to design a building, make a model, and share it with your family on our final day. Camp leaders include Laura Howard of Kidder Architects, and Dr. Michael DeSanctis of Gannon University. Howard has experience in preserving and restoring historic structures in Manhattan, New York, and Fallingwater in PA, while DeSanctis is a professor of fine arts and a specialist in church architecture. Each camp is limited to 22 students. $50 per camper. Full day, 9am-3pm.
Campers in grades 6 to 8 will engage in activities at Hagen History Center including scavenger hunts and behind the scenes tours in all the buildings. They will also create their own mini exhibit while learning the process our curators use to create professional museum exhibits. Campers will take several field trips to local historical sites and museums across Erie County. Abbie Harrington, a teacher at North East Middle School, will return as Camp Director. The camp is limited to 22 students. $30 per camper. Full day, 9am-3pm.
