Erie Gives

August 12, 2025, will be the 15th annual Erie Gives.

Join thousands of donors giving to their favorite nonprofits during this community wide celebration of nonprofits.

This is an event like no other that generates community spirit beyond measure! Collectively, giving last year exceeded $9.7 million. That’s the power of collective giving.

During the past 10 years, there has been transformational change on the campus of the History Center. Thanks to you, the mission continues.

We have seen the restoration of the 133-year-old Watson Curtze Mansion, the renovation of the neighboring 167-year-old Wood Morrison House, the creation of a 10,000 square foot archives building and the creation of a new exhibit building which features Frank Lloyd Wright’s San Francisco office.

It’s everyone’s museum and your support sustains the 122-year legacy of the Erie County Historical Society and helps the History Center develop new exhibits, provide educational opportunities for both adults and children, support field trips for students from first grade through college, and maintain the property and buildings. Thank you.

Because of you, students enjoy week-long history camps, hear history lessons at their schools, and see artifacts up close.

Because of you, adults have been on walking and biking tours of historic sites, listened to lectures on historic topics, dined in historic homes, and celebrated under the stars at galas with over 550 people.

Because of you, new exhibits have been developed and designed to attract not only visitors from Erie County but from around the world. We see Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts each year from Australia!

Because of you, local residents have learned more about our rich history, determined their place in development of our country, and have a new appreciation and pride in Erie County.

In Person

Please bring your check and the completed Check Donation Form to The Erie Community Foundation at 459 West 6th Street, before Friday, August 8, 2025.
They started accepting checks on July 7, 2025.
Make sure to write a single check for the total amount payable to “The Erie Community Foundation,” and the Foundation will distribute your gift to your favorite nonprofits.
Please note: If you give by check, there are no fees to the History Center.

By Mail

You can mail your check to 459 West 6th Street, but we will need to receive your gift by Friday, August 8, 2025.
Complete the Check Donation Form indicating the nonprofit you want to support and the donation amount.
Write a check payable to “The Erie Community Foundation,” and the Foundation will distribute your gift to your favorite nonprofit.
Mail your check and the completed Check Donation Form to The Erie Community Foundation, 459 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16507.

Their friendly staff will answer our phone lines from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 12, 2025.
Donations can be made by phone using your credit card (American Express, Discover, Mastercard, or Visa)
You will have the option to cover the credit card and platform fees giving your nonprofit more dollars.
Minimum donation = $25.

Gift of Stock or IRA via Mail

Talk to your professional advisor or banker who can help you.
The deadline to initiate the transfer of stock or IRA distribution with your custodian directed to The Erie Community Foundation is Monday, August 11, 2025.
Complete the Check Donation Form indicating the organization(s) and donation amount(s).
Mail check and completed form to The Erie Community Foundation, 459 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16507.
The transfer of stock or distribution from your IRA should match the total amount you indicate on your mail-in form.
