Men at the Museum

Men at the Museum

On June 19, 2024

That’s the date of the third annual Men at the Museum at the History Center.

The History Center, and honorary chairperson Matt Clark, invite you to make history with us by supporting this event.

Men at the museum is a cocktail party fundraiser just for men.  Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Cigars and shoe shining will be available.

Enjoy our beautiful campus and summertime in Erie by joining us from 5pm-8pm at the Watson-Curtze Mansion, 356 West 6th Street.

You’re invited to enjoy the party, tour the three exhibit buildings, and see the 11 new professionally designed exhibits.

Join us and help us tell this wonderfully rich story as we continue to make history together.

We have a unique opportunity this year for our Men at the Museum guests.

The Watson-Curtze Mansion is the keystone of the History Center campus. The solarium on the east side of the building is in need of a new roof.  We believe the present roof is 50-60 years old.  It has been repaired many times, but it is now in need of replacement. The new roof will cost about $42,000.

The gutters and downspouts are also in need of replacement. The City of Erie agreed to award the History Center a grant in the amount of $15,000 to handle this part of the project. This work began in March in agreement with the grant requirements.

Our goal is to replace the roof as soon as possible.  This will stop the water leaks coming into the solarium.

We need to maintain the Watson-Curtze Mansion as it is used for tours for school students and adults, to house permanent and temporary exhibits, and for children’s activities during our Community Days (free days)

Invitations will be mailed in May. If you’d like to receive an invitation or have any questions, please contact us at 814-454-1813 x 34 or gcicchetti@eriehistory.org.

Men under the age of 40 will pay their age. For example, if you are 30 years old,  your price will be $30.

For all other men, tickets are $100/each.

Thank you for your consideration and for making history with us!
