Make History With Us and join in Erie’s downtown resurgence by becoming a member of the Curtze Family Leadership Giving Circle.

It is more than a slogan.  It’s what we do every day at Hagen History Center in Erie, PA, and we invite you to join us in this endeavor.

It is YOUR history.  It is YOUR story.  It’s the story of all of us: The story of Erie County. The story of immigrants and the rich diversity of our residents.  The story of farming.  The story of industrialization.  The story of advancements and setbacks.  The story of war and peace. The story of living on a great lake.  The story of large and small businesses.  It’s the story of our past, our present and, yes, our future.

Becoming a member of the Curtze Circle at Hagen History Center gives you a front row seat to our storytelling for you and all future generations.

Why join now?  One reason is that there’s never been a more exciting time at the Hagen History Center.

Hagen History Center is a new museum.    For the past three years there have been preparations for a new day at the Hagen History Center. If you have driven by the campus on West Sixth Street, you have seen the progress.

Old buildings have been restored, and a new building has been constructed. The manicured grounds are at the center of four city blocks of restoration.

There’s been an investment of over $11M during the past three years, and the eight new professionally designed exhibits are sure to inspire you. In addition, a national exhibit, which will be unveiled this summer, will make the Hagen History Center a major tourist Destination. This is history that stimulates. History that excites. History that inspires. Become part of this history that inspires.

In addition, Hagen History Center is part of Erie’s downtown resurgence.  Where else can you make history AND resurge a city for the price of an annual membership?

With your membership, you are welcome to unlimited visits, unlimited guest passes, 15% off most gift shop purchases, newsletters, Journal of Erie Studies, and attendance at members-only events.

Join us now and help us tell this wonderfully rich story as we continue to make history together.  Your membership will help with the staffing and maintenance of the 6 ECHS buildings in Erie and 2 historic farmhouses in Girard.

Curtze Family Leadership Giving Circle

Making history inspiring.  That’s what the Hagen History Center does, thanks to the generosity of our Curtze Family Leadership Giving Circle members.

Local attorney Tom Tupitza and his wife Carol have long supported HHC’s mission.  Tom is a former board president of the Erie County Historical Society and both he and Carol are interested in Erie’s past, present, and future.

“As we work together to build a future in which all of our community’s citizens can thrive, it’s important to recognize Erie’s important role in our nation’s history,” Tom said.  “Our History Center and its programming are now among the finest in the country and deserve broad-based support.”

Membership in the Curtze Circle at Hagen History Center is a one of the best ways to ensure that Erie County storytelling will continue for future generations.

Tom and Carol have been Curtze Circle members since 2019 and are happy to help tell the wonderfully rich story of Erie County as the County and HHC continue to make history.
