Make History With Us and join in Erie’s downtown resurgence by becoming a member of the Curtze Family Leadership Giving Circle.
It is more than a slogan. It’s what we do every day at Hagen History Center in Erie, PA, and we invite you to join us in this endeavor.
It is YOUR history. It is YOUR story. It’s the story of all of us: The story of Erie County. The story of immigrants and the rich diversity of our residents. The story of farming. The story of industrialization. The story of advancements and setbacks. The story of war and peace. The story of living on a great lake. The story of large and small businesses. It’s the story of our past, our present and, yes, our future.
Becoming a member of the Curtze Circle at Hagen History Center gives you a front row seat to our storytelling for you and all future generations.
Why join now? One reason is that there’s never been a more exciting time at the Hagen History Center.
Hagen History Center is a new museum. For the past three years there have been preparations for a new day at the Hagen History Center. If you have driven by the campus on West Sixth Street, you have seen the progress.
Old buildings have been restored, and a new building has been constructed. The manicured grounds are at the center of four city blocks of restoration.
There’s been an investment of over $11M during the past three years, and the eight new professionally designed exhibits are sure to inspire you. In addition, a national exhibit, which will be unveiled this summer, will make the Hagen History Center a major tourist Destination. This is history that stimulates. History that excites. History that inspires. Become part of this history that inspires.
In addition, Hagen History Center is part of Erie’s downtown resurgence. Where else can you make history AND resurge a city for the price of an annual membership?
The other reason is that your support is needed now more than ever. With COVID-19, Hagen History Center was first closed for 4 months and then closed again for almost 7 months There was no revenue from visitations or gift shop sales. Membership renewals slowed greatly. Several weddings and fundraising events had to be cancelled. There was also a delay in the construction of the new exhibits. Originally scheduled to open in May 2020, they are now targeted to open in 2021. This also caused a loss in revenue from admissions.
With your membership, you are welcome to unlimited visits, unlimited guest passes, 15% off most gift shop purchases, , quarterly newsletters, Journal of Erie Studies, and attendance at members-only events (Annual Meeting and holiday party).
Join us now and help us tell this wonderfully rich story as we continue to make history together. Your membership will help with the staffing and maintenance of the 6 ECHS buildings in Erie and 2 historic farmhouses in Girard.
Join the Curtze Family Leadership Giving Circle for $1,200 or more and enjoy a 15-month membership period. You may also choose to utilize monthly billing for your Curtze Circle donation.
Your Curtze Circle membership at the $1892 level and above also gives you an opportunity to schedule a private party at the Watson-Curtze Mansion. Other sponsorship levels include other Hagen History Center properties. See the attached list for the full benefits of membership.
We look forward to you becoming part of the Curtze Circle, and we invite you to schedule a private tour of our campus. Call 814-454-1813 x 34 to set up a tour.
