The last 10 years have been extraordinary on West 6th Street, but the most impressive transformation has been on the campus of the Hagen History Center.
We have seen the restoration of the 132-year-old Watson-Curtze Mansion, the renovation of the neighboring 166-year-old Wood-Morrison house, the creation of a 10,000 square-foot archives building, and the creation of a new exhibit building which features Frank Lloyd Wright’s San Francisco office.
In addition to visiting buildings, we have been on walking and biking tours of historic sites, listened to lectures on historic topics, dined in historic homes, and celebrated under the stars at galas with over 550 people. Our community’s children and grandchildren have been on school field trips, heard history lessons at their schools, and spent a week in the summer History Camps at Sixth and Chestnut.
It has been 10 years of transformational growth thanks to the members of the Board of Directors at the Hagen History Center. Join us as we celebrate the past decade and honor the Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the boards.
The honorees include Peter Burton, Kelly Montefiori, Randy Shapira, Mark Squeglia, Roy Strausbaugh, and Jack Watts.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate with the honorees at A Night at the Museum Gala on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the campus of the beautiful Hagen History Center. Enjoy an evening of friendship and a great party with an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres from Red Letter Hospitality, and music and dancing with the Groove Band.
We also ask that you consider becoming a sponsor of this event. Your support will fund operational costs for the exhibit buildings, student field trips and educational programming. You will be making history locally by supporting this cultural landmark and helping continue the resurgence of downtown Erie.
Call the Hagen History Center at 814-454-1813, ext. 34 for additional details. We look forward to seeing you at A Night at the Museum Gala!
Sincerely,
