Ground Breaking for the New Exhibit Building at the Thomas B. Hagen History Center

Friday Mar 29th, 2019

With turns of shovels on Friday, March 1, 2019, the newest project on the Hagen History Center campus began.

A new 6,000-square-foot exhibit building will be located directly behind the Education Center. The Education Center is in the Wood-Morrison House, 338 West 6th Street. The first floor of the new exhibit building will feature two galleries, including an exhibit of national significance. The second floor will feature a comprehensive exhibit on the history of Erie County.

The building should take about 12 months to construct. The first exhibit should be installed within 6 months after that. ECHS has hired a professional exhibit designer to ensure the exhibits are vibrant, interactive and engaging. This is a major development for the Hagen History Center campus, and the exhibits will be a great draw for Erie residents and tourists alike
